Overview
Un pueblecito de Irlanda. El cartero del pueblo descubre tres cadáveres en casa de Moira, una vecina extravagante y distante que hace años que vive sola y apartada en su gran casa. Los cadáveres corresponden a dos hermanas jóvenes, Fiona y Roisin, huérfanas y sobrinas de Moira, y a ésta última. Los cuerpos de las jóvenes están en un estado esquelético y con señales de haber estado esposadas.
Unos días más tarde Niall, un joven empleado de correos, descubre en la oficina un paquete abandonado enviado por Fiona: dentro del sobre hay un diario en el que declara que ella y Roisin han cometido un asesinato, y cuenta su historia: cómo ella y sus hermanas conocieron a Jim, un cuenta cuentos cautivador y peligroso, el hombre que cambiaría sus vidas para siempre...
